Layering Obsession

This afternoon I began to recognize this point of creation where you cease to think and begin to act.

It's that point where your no longer playing in the mud, you're active in the process of creation but not from the mind or habitual process but from an almost physically explosive emotional state. Often this results in a tangled mess of lines and marks, as was the case today. Using oil pastels well warmed up before hand I began painting over a previous 'entanglement' that had been lightly glazed over to produce a uniform surface.

The back and forth, movements of both hands being used in turn, results in a bit too much texture but there is something there - something of value. I can't see it yet but like a blacksmith warming up her anvil this process feels like I'm pushing towards the bleeding edge of something. What I can't say just yet but it's there.
