Early still, with the process.
I've been working out the basic process this past week. With only a few colors to work from at the moment things tend to look a little monochromatic. I think that works in may favor though given the size of the painted area is about 10x20.5cm in area. Because I'm using pure pigments I also sometimes get a granular appearance. It's not unpleasant and depends mostly on the paper texture pigment type. Assuming you're viewing this on a 12" or larger screen you're more than likely viewing it at larger than life size, which just underlines the grains.
With this particular sketch card I focused primarily on using a palette knife with blues and blacks along with pulling back pigment on occasion with an eraser. I'd liken the process almost to drawing if it weren't for the techniques and materials used.
