Today I stopped noticing people on the streets.
The animals around town. The architecture. Street photography itself was dead to me before I ever began shooting on the streets of Lund (or any other city for that matter). It only takes one look online and in many photographic exhibitions to see that the world is saturated with repetitive subjects in photography and while esthetic, is a beaten path I don’t want to really persue.
So I started looking at form, pulling away from their beaten paths. Really seeing how the eye looks and not the lens. While not wholly abstract, compared to my recent works this photograph today was a study in abstraction and form. It feels both trite and true. It’s pulling and pushing against an internal tide of visual ‘rights’ and ‘wrongs.’ But whatever it may or not may not represent it is the truth of me today.
